Tunnel to Serenity:
The initial concept for this project was to make a bridge between the busy downtown streets and a soothing park. A shift from the mechanized world to the natural world. The tight layering of ribs facing street portrays the clustered city life. As the threshold moves towards park, the layering loosens leading people to the openness, nature, freshness and in a way to the freedom of life. The gradual gap slowly reveals them to the earth and sky.
